Tulane’s Robert Kelley

Tulane true freshman Robert Kelley was named the Conference USA Special Teams Player of the Week on Sept. 5.  In his first collegiate game, Kelley set the school record for kickoff return yards with 213 against Southeastern La. in the season opener.

Episode VI: Running Back Orleans Darkwa

You see them on the field and interviewed on ESPN but who are these student-athletes? Having the opportunity to get to know the athletes on a more personal level is a highlight of working in athletics. So we thought we’d give all of our fans the same opportunity. The Tulane Athletics Department introduces “The Day in the Life of a Student-Athlete: Summer Edition.”

Sixth in the series is sophomore running back Orleans Darkwa. Orleans winds down after a tough morning practice with teammates Kerchal Byrd, Andre Robinson, and L.J. Parker to test out the new NCAA Football 12 game.  Playing for the Wave, he beats Kerchal, playing for the Southern Miss Golden Eagles. After celebrating his win, he’s ready to tackle his biology test, but is he ready to handle a tarantula? Watch the highlights by clocking on the link above to find out!
