In the latest Reel Time with Rick Dickson, Tulane’s Director of Athletics pays tribute to the 2010 senior class as the group is in the midst of completing their final exams for the last time and looking toward next week’s graduation.  Dickson reminisces about how quickly these wide-eyed freshmen quickly mature into adults during their time at Tulane and go out and become great ambassadors for the University.

He also looks to the Green Wave baseball and track & field teams as they are the only remaining sports still participating in regular season play, while the TU women’s golf team is competing at the NCAA East Regionals.

Dickson also explained the recently announced game times for Tulane’s seven-game home football schedule and the season-opening game against a local team, Southeastern Louisiana, on Sept. 2 and hosting Ole Miss at home for the first time in 13 years on Sept. 11.

Dickson also looked back on Tulane’s Student-Athlete Awards Banquet on April 25, which annually honors the Green Wave’s seniors, teams and award winners.

In this week’s episode of Reel Time with Rick Dickson, TU’s Director of Athletics displays his ability to wear several different hats at one time. Last week, Dickson added recruiter to his dossier as he took the same recruiting test as every NCAA basketball coach does on an annual basis and hit the road with newly hired coach Ed Conroy. At the same time, he relished the Tulane women’s golf team’s back-to-back Conference USA titles and is cheering for both the men’s and women’s tennis squads as they battle for their own C-USA championships this week, as well as the baseball team’s late season run toward postseason play.

Tulane head football coach Bob Toledo discusses Monday's practice, including what they worked on, the team's attitude throughout camp and some individual battles that highlighted the day.

He also talks about the newest and hottest topic in the area in a possible football stadium on our campus and provides an up-to-date briefing on where this initiative currently stands.

Coming this weekend is the Second Annual 5k race on Saturday at 8 a.m. around the TU campus. The race is comprised of Tulane faculty and staff as well as TU’s athletic administration, coaches and student-athletes, along with the general public, and benefits the Wave’s fine student-athletes.

Following the race, the Green Wave baseball team continues a three-game homestand against the UNLV Rebels.
