Day 14 of Fall Camp is in the books and it was a solid one. The guys had a morning workout following two-a-day sessions yesterday and they didn’t show signs of stopping. They put together a really productive and efficient practice so Coach Toledo decided to reward their hard work with a little fun.
The premise was this: 8 offensive linemen and 8 defensive linemen are sent up one by one and have to catch a punt. The winning unit doesn’t have to do conditioning in the hot New Orleans sun in August. Sounds like a good reward to me!
*Sidenote- Though we didn’t mean to shortchange Pete Hendrickson and Logan Kelley on their spectacular snags for their respective teams, we regretfully admit that we didn’t capture these guys because, well, they were the first two guys to go and I wasn’t in position to film them. Next time I will step up my camera game.
(apologies for the shaky camera…we didn’t see this competition coming and had to act fast to capture it at all!)
And a few words from defensive lineman Oscar Ponce de Leon, who made the final catch to tie the game and keep the defensive from extra sprints after practice:
